Sailing Expeditions

This is a true adventure! If you get excited by heading to remote sailing grounds you will love our sailing expeditions. Just don’t ask us what comes next, because we don’t know either!

Sailing Expeditions - What are they?

Following the amazing success of our first Round Britain sailing expedition (called ASPIRE360) with 8 young people we found there is a real opportunity to provide life changing longer sailing expeditions which make a lasting impact. These trips sail off the beaten track & into the wild. Facilities will be limited and we can make few promises about what to expect. This is a true adventure; so if you want hot showers and need creature comforts on tap then these are not for you. If you get excited by heading to remote sailing grounds you will love our sailing expeditions. Just don’t ask us what comes next, because we don’t know either!

Expedition Ireland (Planned for April 2022)

It’s easy to identify those who’ve cruised the South West corner of Ireland - once the topic has been raised, it is usually difficult to stop the conversation! From the stunning natural beauty of its rugged coastline to the lush green hills & moutains to small harbours & anchorages; this amazing expedtion will trigger a lifetime of memories.

This short two week mini-expedition will visit Kinsale, Baltimore, Bantry Bay, the Kenmare River, Derrynane and the iconic Fastnet Rock! The Young people taking part will sail over 700 nautical miles with two long 40hr legs at the start and end of the voyage! This will be a test of endurance that will challenge and make for amazing memories.

ASPIRE360 - Round Britain Challenge (Planned for 2023)

A team of ten young people aged between 14 and 18 will take part in the adventure of a lifetime as they sail just under 2000 nautical miles around the coast of Britain. The crew will swap the comforts of home for single bunks, a moving deck and having to learn how to cook, clean and look after each other as they get used to their new home.

It will be a challenge which will see them battle strong winds, freezing temperatures and rough seas at times throughout the trip; as well as marvelling at our beautiful coastline under sun-drenched skies. It will be a feat of pure physical, mental, emotional and academic endurance, but one which will leave the young people changed forever. They will make strong bonds with their crew mates, increase their own understanding of themselves and their boundaries and most importantly have the confidence that they can try and excel at anything!

Celtic Nations Expedition (Planned for 2024)

Celebrating the rich Celtic heritage from Cornwall to France! Planned for 2023 the Celtic 6 Nations will be another life changing expedition. This sailing expedition will see a group of young people undertake a 2300 nautical mile major expedition visiting Cornwall, Brittany, Ireland (inc. Northern Ireland), Scotland, Isle of Man, and Wales!

Once again the young people will need to learn how to live, work together and excel aboard whilst battling weather, tides and the cold. All of that will be eclipsed of course by the amazing coutries, ports, museums, and cultural sites they will vistit along the route. Initial plans will see us sailing from Fowey and visiting: Brest, Cameret, Cork, Dublin, Belfast, Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, Douglas, and Milford Haven.

We are in the preliminary stages of planning for this expedition but needless to say it will be epic!
