Jasmine, one of our Watch Leaders, and all round awesome human being, is supporting our crowdfunding campaign by taking part in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race and is raising funds by way of sponsorship.

Starting in Devizes in Wiltshire, the race travels down the Kennet and Avon Canal until it joins the River Thames at Reading, then follows the River Thames to Westminster in the heart of London.

"I will be taking part in a challenging 4 day canoe race from Devizes, Wiltshire and finishing at Westminster Bridge in central London, opposite the Houses of Parliament. Taking place over the Easter Weekend, it's a gruelling course, 125 miles long including 77 portages. As a team, Izzy (my friend and paddling partner) and I will not only be racing but also have to cook for ourselves, set up and camp.

Why am I doing this? Simply because I love a challenge. Over the last few years sailing with Morvargh has also provided me with such an opportunity. They have helped me develop my sailing and leadership skills. I have in turn helped other young people to work together, overcome sea sickness and most significantly have great fun creating memories as part of a team.

I am fundraising for Morvargh Sailing Project so that other young people can take part in the challenge of sailing as part of a 16 person team around the UK. I am not only raising funds for this project but also helping with refits to get the boat ready, training the new young people for the venture and being a watch leader for part of this years venture sailing around the UK. Please help me to support others thrive.”

We really have been taken aback by the amount of support we have been receiving lately. We recently met some of the children that we hope to take on the #Aspire360 expedition aboard Helen Mary R and they were so excited to be aboard and at the prospect of sailing with us! Your support and shares really help make all the difference and are making dreams a reality!

If you would be interested in supporting ASPIRE360 by fundraising for us on your own event, you can set up your own fundraising page by visiting it only takes minutes, you don’t need any ID or bank details and anything you raise goes directly to the cause. There are 0% fees so every penny makes a difference and helps us reach our goal!

Whilst you're here could we ask for your support in sharing this post? Getting shares and likes really helps to promote the work we do and helps raise the profile of the Project. Give those share buttons a click!
