#ASPIRE360 gets noticed
Media interest regarding Morvargh Sailing Projects ASPIRE360 UK circumnavigation
Posted by Vicky on 3rd January 2017.
The Christmas and New Year breaks are over and we're back aboard Helen Mary R getting everything organised for #ASPIRE360 and working on the (thankfully) decreasing jobs list! There are just 88 days until we slip lines from Plymouth's Sutton Harbour to great fanfare and cheers with just 8 young people. Selecting the final 8 to sail aboard is certainly going to be a tough process and thankfully we have the support and help from the Mount Batten Centre to help us run a selection process.
The hype and media interest around ASPIRE360 is growing too. This has brought exciting possibilities and some slight changes to the route we're planning on taking; more on that in the next blog post! ASPIRE360 has been featured on BBC Spotlight, BBC Radio Devon & BBC Radio Cornwall, Heart FM and has been featured in print too! We made the Sunday Independent, Classic Sailor Magazine, YBW.com and the All at Sea waterfront paper.
Several magazines and radio stations want to follow our progress as we travel round the UK which is very exciting! We'll be taking several video cameras with us and will be uploading video footage taken by the young people as we sail to our YouTube channel - please subscribe so you don't miss out on a new video! One of the things that I am most looking forward to is watching the footage and seeing how they develop as they sail nearly 1800 nautical miles! ASPIRE360 is truly going to be a life changing experience and it will be great to document that process.
We'll be filming from the moment the young people set foot aboard, when they swap the comforts of home for single bunks, a moving deck and having to learn how to cook, clean and look after each other! You'll see us all battle strong winds, freezing temperatures and rough seas, as well as marvelling at our beautiful coastline under sun-drenched skies.
If you'd like to feature Morvargh Sailing Project and ASPIRE360 please do get in touch! We'll be posting regular updates to our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat networks too!
