Local Business supports ASPIRE360 Round Britain Challenge

Plymouth based Ace Fire & Security have pledged their support to Morvargh Sailing Project and their #ASPIRE360 voyage by donating new fire extinguishers for use aboard their Tall Ship Helen Mary R.

ASPIRE360 is fantastic opportunity for eight young people aged between 14 & 18 to experience the United Kingdom in a way few others have, by sea. ASPIRE 360 is a major circumnavigation of the UK, sailing over 1735 nautical miles, visiting 16 amazing ports and 2 countries. Young people do not need any previous sailing experience as the staff on board (called Afterguard) will teach them everything they need to know. They will meet new people and work together to set sails, steer, keep watch and even cook.

The Plymouth based sailing organisation has been turning to local businesses for support. This is where Ace Fire & Security stepped in to help. Morvargh Sailing Project have been working hard to get their vessel refitted over the last three years after they found their standing rigging needed to be replaced. The donation of fire extinguishers move them ever forward in preparation for their departure on the 2nd April.

Fire extinguishers are an integral part of keeping everyone protected and safe aboard and are an essential piece of kit. They are the only piece of equipment at the crew's fingertips to allow them to personally fight a fire and protect the boat and her passengers. Having the correct extinguishers in place to cover fire risks is essential and Ace Fire & Security will also be assisting Morvargh in renewing their fire safety policies and procedures as well as ensuring they are trained in their use.

"Ace Fire & Security (Plymouth) wish the ASPIRE360 crew fair weather and smooth sailing for their circumnavigation around the British Isles, we are proud  to be able to support them and look forward to their safe return." Mike Redfearn - Operations Director, Ace Fire & Security

The local business has been established for 26 years and provide a personal service to all their clients and ensure they meet all the required legislation, offer support & training and importantly value for money!

"We are so thankful by the support we are receiving from Ace Fire & Security and without their support we would have had to find further capital to replace and renew the extinguishers aboard. Ace Fire & Security's advice is as valuable as getting the extinguishers replaced; knowing that they are looking at our policies and procedures and can advise us has been invaluable." Matthew Barraud - Director
