Explorer Sailing Voyages

Explorer Sailing Voyages

Explorer Voyages have low mileage for the time allotted and are almost entirely coastal and day sailing in nature. If you are completely new to sailing or nervous about your capabilities, these would be an ideal entry point. Find your perfect 2022 Explorer Sailing voyage below!

Explorer Voyages - What are they?

Our Explorer Voyages are normally run over a long weekend or single week. They are a great introduction to life aboard a modern sail training vessel. We will undertake the occasional longer passage (around 10-12hrs) but most passages are shorter, hopping from port to port. These sailing trips normally visit ports such as Falmouth, Salcombe, Dartmouth, and normally depart and return to our base in Fowey. There is always time to head ashore and explore along with actively sailing the boat.

Positive Youth Development

Sail Training is a challenging and fun way to develop self-confidence, improve academic performance and change lives. It provides an intense, structured environment with defined boundaries and a clear common purpose: the successful completion of a voyage. Participants learn to manage themselves and interact with others along with dramatically boosting their self-awareness and confidence. There are no contrived situations on a Sail Training voyage: you really do need to work together in order to achieve a successful outcome. In addition, the sheer exhilaration of harnessing the elements engenders enthusiasm and a feeling of achievement.
